It's Holding On For Dear Life!

Today is Day 14 from my 1st chemo, and they say the hair comes out at 14-17 days, yikes! But mine is holding strong I think! The waiting sucks, just fall out already! My hair and head are hurting, very sensitive, ouch! I need a haircut badly, but if it going to fall out, why waste the cash? And if it is not coming out yet, why buzz it off to early? I keep running my fingers thru it, just to see, sometimes I get a few hairs and think "its starting", but then I run my fingers thru it later and no hairs at all! I will probably go bald just from running my fingers thru my hair myself! Oh, the dilemmas of breast cancer and chemo! Today may just be a hat day by the pool! Will write more later~~~next chemo is Aug 6th.

Leave it alone!! Maybe it won't fall out...and if it does, you are all set with the decoy.

Remember Demi Moore did it on purpose?? She still looked good....Brittany is another story!

Listen to your sister....leave it alone! Grab a hat, lather on the sunscreen and go sit by the pool....under an umbrella with something to drink, preferably water but diet coke would work too!

OK, right on schedule on day 14 around 3 pm it started to come out in clumps! Day 15, July 30th, really BIG clumps!! Kind of freaky!! May have to hit the buzzer tomorrow! It will be an easy breezy summer look! Not sure if the bald is beautiful works for us chicks, but thanks for the cheer from Oz Will!

Oh Boy! I was hoping that you would be spared chemotherapy induced alopecia; but when you mentioned the painful scalp, the oncology nurse side of me kicked in and hoped that your buzzers were nice and sharp...bald is beautiful when you are battling breast cancer so wear it proudly!

Tarah and I have both shaved our heads if not fully, then partially (what _was_ going on with that style in the punk 90s phase...) so if you need help handling your clippers, I'd be happy to help!

Oh, I'm sorry it has started - but I agree facing it head on (no pun intended) is the best. Ken and I will still shave our heads in support if it will make you feel at all better in any way. We only want to make you feel better.

My mom also offered up her hair if you needed it. I'm not sure you want hair from the 60s on your head (I don't think she has cut it since then!) and it is a little grey (maybe they can dye it) and smokey (surely they wash it) ... but she did offer.

Just give us a jingle if you want a head shaving "party" - we'll come and do ours too.
