Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow!!
As my last blog stated, the hair was holding fast the a.m. of Day 14, but p.m. Day 14 and Day 15 it was coming out in chunks!! It was entertaining to pull clumps and throw it to nature (Emma said the birds can make nests!) But by Monday pm, I had to call Patricia, my wig lady, and have it cut off this am! It was everywhere, you don't even want to know about the shower drain! So now I look just like Demi Moore in GI Jane, just minus her fantastic totally toned body!! It feels so much better off, it was hurting so much.....I wore my wig home, then just put on a headband and then a hat. No biggie! I should be totally bald by the w/e I would think! Here are some photos.....Emma and I in matching headbands the night before the buzz, then me and Dave with matching cuts, and my hat look! Its gonna be a cool summer, I can tell you that!! I'll just jazz up my eyes and lips more, and nobody will notice I am sure!!! Will get wig photos soon, the humidity must lift if I am to wear that thing!!

I agree it looks good. It would be great if every woman who had to shave her head did automatically get the great GI Jane body to go with it... that seems like a fair trade. There would be women signing up all over to shave their heads.
I hope otherwise you are feeling pretty good. I think you look great.
I still hope we end up at BIDMC on the same day ... we can keep eachother company while I labor and you get your meds. I'd be more than happy to have this baby on the 6th!

On a different note, the family that Kate is staying with in Peru has a pen of guinnie pigs in the backyard. Kate thought they were pets, no, they ended up on the dinner table! A new PETA member is born!

Maureen...that is just so disturbing!!! First of all, how much meat do you really get on a guinni pig? I think I'd go and pitch a tent if I were Kate...better yet, Are there any Marriott's in Peru?

Don't tell Emma about eating Guinie Pigs, she has a pet Lucy piggie and we love her!Poor Kate!
And thanks to all who say i look beautiful! I am actually enjoying this, it is very liberating and freeing!! I like my bald head!

Your bald head ROCKS....you do look great! The eyes, the cute ears, the perfectly round skull and the beautiful lips....add to that a pair of your gorgeous earrings and you are good to go! In control indeed! I have never known anyone so in control of their disease,treatment and baldness as YOU! Being an oncology nurse for 21 years does make me some kind of an expert don't you think?! Are you sure you do not want me to shave my head in support of your courageous battle???!! I have a hair appointment tomorrow and it sounds like you are liking your new doo! Besides, the upkeep is so simple!

Great Blog! It is amazing how you and look so bubbely and beautiful in the middle of all this fun stuff. You are truly an inspiration for so many young women. Keep on moving...can't it a moving target you know.

When I lost my hair, my 7 year old nephew commented that he had never seen a bald woman- I replied you have now- and he said, "Not bad, I could get used to seeing you like this" Seems like some high fashion models have the same look too!. Stay strong... Kathy

I love a the shaved head look! You are rockin' it! And with the wig, hat, and headband- you have so many options- you're like a Barbie doll (accept alot prettier) :) How fun is that? Can I come over and play with your head accessories ;)

I agree 2 carats would be perfect.You are the strongest person I know and your attitude is amazing!!!!! Prehaps you could do a jeanne Gillis and have a pair of earings to match each of your baseball hats..
