Days 2 and 3 Post Chemo~~~not so bad!

Not to get to excited, because they say with each Chemo treatment, it can get a bit worse, but so far so good here in post chemoland! I am mostly tired, achey and I had a bad headach the first a.m. after teatment, reminded me of hangovers from years past, but with those I (and my friend that shall remain nameless, OK, Robin) had much more fun the night before!!! :) But I gobbled down all my anti nausea drugs, my favorite Ativan (the one that makes you not care if you don't feel well) some Tylenol, had some ice cream..... all was better in chemoland once again! Not very hungry (weird for me!!) Craving fruit today (also, weird for me!) and drinking tons of water. Got some Vit water and antioxident water (hey it was on sale 10 for $10 at Star, can't hurt!) Will write more later if anything exciting happens....like throwing up or hair starting to come out!! Hey, you gotta laugh!! Love, Kristin

We did have some fun though didn't we!!!! The hangovers were worth it most of the time...what you are feeling...the headache/achey/fluey feeling is from the taxotere...you might get some boney pain in your hips and thighs due to your bone marrow cranking out lots and lots of white blood cells after the neulasta...you can probably use motrin for that but be sure that is OK with the oncologist....people crave the wackiest things during chemo, usually stuff they never really ate or cared about...mostly due to the changes in metabolism and the funky taste in your mouth from cytoxan...keep up the good work! It does not necessarily get worse with each one...alot of the time, the first indicates how the next will be, although you may get more and more tired as your body is waging war against an invader and this is exhausting! I am very proud of you and thank you for sharing this with all of us....you are an incredible person and my most funnest friend!!!

Hi Kris,

I can't believe I have missed out on any days of blogging...love the hair-do's. Yours look great!!!

Diane...well she looks like Barbra Streisand in the first, and Marie Antoinette in the second. Too funny!!!

Where are you having the chemo done? I am available for hand holding, candy delivery, and
empathy regarding a high maintenance 6 year old (our girls are 17 days apart).

Just keep resting and call Mom when I'm away. She likes taking Emma out, maybe to a movie (Harry Potter) or something like that.

When we're back, Tell Emma I'm planning on a "scalywags" day and maybe another "Build a ##**!! Bear day too" Keep drinking water more than the diet coke too!

Whenever we're faced with a trial such as this, we are reduced to the bare essence of our character; our best and worst qualities come to the surface because we haven't got the energy for guile nor pretense.

What I see coming to the surface here is your amazing strength and courage, and your over-the-top ability to find humor in the most unbelievable places. I'm in awe, and also very humbled. I can only pray that I will be able to face the battles in my own life with a fraction of your grace, strength and humor. God Bless you Kristin!
Love,
Maria

To Maria...I agree with what you said 100%...beautifully stated! One thing about our friend Kristin is that she is incredibly funny and humor is such good medicine! I always knew that she was strong and there is no doubt in my mind that her strength and determination will kick cancers ass!!! And Kristin...listen to Lisa...more water, less Diet Coke, as hard as that is!

Way to go Kristin! Your spirit seems really high, and that's so important (of course maybe that has something to do with the Ativan... just kidding). Glad things are going well so far. You're in our thoughts!
